You definitely want an O ring chain. I used one of the DID VMX chains before and thought it had great life and was worry free. I'm running a a RK X ring chain right now and it has also been good. If you've never messed with an O ring chain before, do yourself a favor and get the little pressing block to put the master link side plate on with. It will save you a lot of work, you'll have it forever as it works on all O ring chains. Scott's makes a nice one that is simple and burly, I have had mine for about 10 years now.

As for the length, you should be able to get away with the number of pins that you had with your 13/52, although you may have to cut a couple of pins off. Just to be on the safe side, order a chain with two more pins than what you had.

I have a 118 pins including the master link with my 15/52 set up on my 04.
