I just put on a set of 17" wheels on my 08Fe450. I changed the gearing to a 15-42 and got a chain to go with it. I have a problem though. When I put the chain on at one spot the chain was too long to get even close to tight enough. So I popped one more link out and now the chain is too short to connect by almost a quarter inch. I have my slack adjusted all the way down and I cannot get the link together. A half link would fit perfectly but you cannot hook up at the half. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I hope I didn't jack up an expensive chain. I have not thrown anything away yet. Any help or suggestions will be a life saver. I was thinking about taking out the axle just to hook up the chain and see if i can get the axle home but I am not sure if i will be able to do that. I will get to try that when I go back to Minnesota next week.
