Just bought/converted a 2002 FE650e to a supermoto. One problem I have is that the previous owner who only used the bike in the dirt cut about four inches or so off the chain guard so that I am getting chain oil fling up on the edge of the right side of my rear tire - not real confidence inspiring. I am having a hard time finding a new or used one. Anyone out there have one for sale that will work? Thanks.

Can you rivet an L shape section of plastic onto the existing chain guard to extend it? It wont be the prettiest solution but will keep the tyre clean until you find a replacement guard.

I know this is way late, but if it benefits someone then... I have a 2005 fs650e. I needed a chain guard in order to plate it in Delaware, usa. I had trouble locating a factory unit, and didn't want to spend 80 bucks on an aftermarket maybe fit, maybe not. So, I found a pretty generic looking left side drive guard at a motorcycle salvage yard. 20 bucks, some cutting, and fabbing of brackets, (rear bracket is a kx250 motor mount bent to 90° at bottom, heat required. The front is part of a kx125 number plate mount cut and bent to form). Painted all black. Went through dmv with no problem! Hope this helps someone. Good luck, and happiness ripping!
