Hi Bergman,

Sorry for the late reply, the site has been down or I've not been available.
You say you have checked the stator connections, just check that the mail and female are actually making a good connection and it is not the female rubber covering over the male that makes you think they are pushed well together.
Just give the female connections a bit of a nip with finger and thumb to make sure the male is making a good push in fit.
I have come across this where you think the connection is good but actually the male is just floating in the female connector and occasionally making contact.
If you have this intermittent problem could possibly be the reason your cdi's keep blowing.

Regards

Sparks.

thanks for the reply sparks. the site was down here also. i checked the connections first, all seemed to be ok. cleaned carb and it's been starting great again. will try this morning 30deg. just couldn't understand where the spark went. my buddy even held onto the plug while spinning it over with the plug out, nothing. this is a strange one for sure. will let you know what if i find anything. this morning will be the test.

thanks again ( i do love your stator--big difference when starting when cold)

Bergman
