carb vent drool

Right on Kzoo,

Sounds like you're on the right track!!

If you suspect an air leak, while it's idling, try spraying some contact cleaner around the boot where it meets the head and see if the idle changes. If it does then you have confirmed you're air leak there. The contact cleaner will make a momentary seal if you will, but, won't leave behind a residue.

If you confirm it, and it's not too bad maybe a thin layer of three bond 1211 on the rubber will help seal things up.

throttle slide plate?

needs to have the little cutaway at the bottom. it's very easy to have it the wrong way up.

is the carb all you have changed since the last time it ran well?

what is it like to ride?

the manifold for a goose 41 is fine! after all, we use the same inlet rubber for 400/450/501/550 and 650.....

i reckon theat you have touched something else.

Ran the bike all weekend with the Dellorto no problems, and yes it's the only thing that I've changed. The slide plate is in correctly, I was speaking of the slide plate o-ring being in correctly. Speaking of the goose 41, I have one but do not see what it's supposed to connect to. It has threads on one end but does not fit over the carb body mouth, or into the carb body mouth.

that advice was from dale lineaweaver and you're the first to take up his advice as i'm aware so sorry but we didn't see that coming!

 No problem, as I was driving it dawned on me that the inlet spigot is needed IF you buy a carb that does not a molded one, i.e. purchased from Sudco etc... If you buy one from Sudco then the spigot will screw into the carb throat. I phoned them just to confirm, and I was on the money.

You may want to update the owner's doc to state that if you don't have the molded type then you need to buy the FCR41 goose version from Sudco. :D

B.T.W. if anyone is looking for one, I know a guy that has one!

"Suzuki Goose" FCR inlet spigot adapter photos. If you have an FCR from somewhere like Sudco, then you'll need one of these. I have a molded inlet so I didn't need to purchase it.
