Kez
the main air jet is relevant to the power curve of THAT bike. whatever that bike is. however, it appears that keihin have given up giving OEM that choice because they come with 200 or nuffink it seems...
yes i was the first to get that correlation right. until then they had all gone the other way to 230's etc. that includes JD and was the day i "marked his card". until then i didn't know what he knew but after it i knew exactly what he knew (too which DL would agree with me = NAL)
your figures are frightening. sensory overload! you can't possibly expect anybody to correlate a needle that is 5 clips different and then a MJ change that is as close as monday is to bloody friday!
sorry can't help. what i can say is this (puts his inspector cluessau hat on) that if you had a huge MJ and now they want you to have a tiny jet either of two things have happened. first, you were way over jetted. or two, that the quoted figure is for an 'E' series needle coming from a 'D' series needle.
leave the 200MAJ as is and PM me with all the coughs and splutters you're gonna get!
a DVR on clip 6 is the equivelant and identical to a DMM needle on clip 1.
so:
DMM c1 = DVR c6
DMM c2 = DVR c7
however, if you have been overjetted your DMM should have been on c1 or c2 anyway. the rule is that if the MJ goes up the needle can be dropped and if the bike leans out the MJ the needle can be raised.
trouble is for you-bless your cotton socks - you don't really know WTF was going on (in the nicest way you understand). but if you're PH.... with a 160MJ you gotta know your onions this time. you go down to 160MJ and you better know your stuff or learn it quickly because any fool can overjet but you'll have to work hard to get it rumbling at a 160. good luck and there's nothing i can't cure. just chuck it at me.
just don't be a *** like we've had here recently and rev it up on choke on the belly stand and announce that it's lean...
good luck
