Hi Guys,

I'm going away for easter weekend and i'm worried about my radiator hose on my 2007 FE 550, appears to have a couple of little splits in the end.

Would it be okay to use Car heater hose on it? Someone told me that the radiator hose is 3/4" or 19mm, Would heater hose work fine?

My thermostat has been bypassed so the hose goes from radiator to water pump

Cheers
Matt

It will work just fine. It is reinforced for the same pressures as your bikes hose. As long as it is Automotive heater hose and not garden hose lol :) It might not be as durable but will be just fine.

LOL, Jmscrttndn. Well heater hose is what's used for supply to the heater core in your car and Rad hose is what's used to supply the rad in your bike bahahahahahaha Same thing just different sizes for different things. You could always use an automotive rad hose and carry an extra couple litres of coolant in your bike, would look kinda funny hahahahahaha
I do think the rad hoses on bikes have a different composition to allow for durability but don't know to much, might be silicon impregnated or something like that, some fancy things to charge a whole lot more :)
