Can't shift down sometimes FE450 -06 (550 -03 engine)

Hi!

Have swapped engine to a 550 -03 and it won't shift down sometimes. Mostly when i'm at low RPM's.
It feels as when you have it in first and try to shift down. Shifting up again is no problem and I have to spam it to make a down shift.

Changing the oil soon so I can have a look but what exactly should I look for?

Best Regards

it'll be the gear selector fork. when you pull it apart check that it isn't bent or buckled and then look at the inside of the fork on the base and the sliding plate. they will be damaged. you can upgrade to later and newer but a simple cure is to use the sidewall of the bench grinding wheel and just chamfer back the edges for a clean sliding plate.

also make sure you have the later clutch with the 12 tubes on the clutch drum in the middle.

I have a disassembled 450 -06 engine, appears to share many parts with the -03.
Thanks for the reply!
