Can't decide

I have a 2010 FE450 that I have done about everything that can be done to one. Rekluse, Akro exhaust headers, FMF4.1 silencer, New bars, Fastway hand guards, GPR4 dampner, Factory Connection suspension, Etc, etc. Living in New England I don't ride in the winter and that's where I get into trouble. I love the theory of 2 smokes, I grew up riding them, but ever since I bought back in 2002 a KTM EXC 520, I have been hooked on four strokes. Had a Christini AWD 2008 KTM XCWR, then a 2008 250 XCFW that I did the 280 kit on. Thne last spring I scored my present FE450. Problem is off season I sit on the toilet reading magazines and start getting antsy into the idea of getting another bike. My local dealer is offering me a great price on a new TE250 2 smoke. I love the theory of the 2 smoke with it's lightness and so called "flickability" factory but I swear, everythime I ride one it's like "Get me the *&^^&*(" off this thing! The way they jump around leaves me with little confidence in them whereas the four stroke just seems to want to climb no matter the obstacle. I'm afraid if I get the TE I will hate it or even worst, dump a ton of money into it trying to get it to settle down on the trail. I guess I am trying to figure out if I should get the TE or not. I Don't want to replace the 450 with the TE, more like thinking of complimenting the FE with the TE and would I use them both? In the past when I got two bikes I always end up getting rid of one of them. I know I'm rambling, just can't decide what to do.

I also have the '10 Fe450 and am completely happy with it, unless I am picking it up of course.
That is the only time I liked my KTM 200 2-stroke better, otherwise the Berg is so much better to ride.
The vibration of the 2-stroke just gets tiring pretty quick unless your 20 years old and don't have any fillings.

swapping from my 09 450 to a '11 te 300 the handling was the biggest thing, i'm still not used to it.

the fact the 4st goes where you point the front wheel and feels much more planted whereas the 2st is very much more flighty.

had 2st all since age 4 then the last 6 or 7 years had 4st, so its not ike i havent ridden them before.

i would say that if your having to think about it so much then dont do it.

I do miss my 09 450, but now that i have the husaberg 300, I'm not so sure!!!, i took to it straight away and love the way you can adjust the power, I've gone up to a 72 spring on the rear, and it feels fantastic light and flickable but definitely tires me out more than the 450, because it begs to be ridden hard.
I'm so glad I've bought it, its sooooo much fun and much easier in the sloppy stuff, the only problem I've found is I'm revving it and spinning the wheel when trying greasy hills instead of trusting the torque......no regrets :D

sounds like a case of the grass is greener (which we all know most of the time its not) or u fancy a change.if u can afford both then why not just buy it if ur getting a good deal.i know my heart is with a te250 after riding one but for where iride my head makes sense.i still find myself looking at 250 bergs & tm250 but i know i would regret it riding on tarmac between lanes, but if i could afford both i would have both

Thanks for you replys, I have decided to just keep using my FE450 seeing it is so dialed in and I have a ton of money into it. Being 56 years old the last thing I need is something that needs to be ridden agressively. My 450 works soooooo good, especially with the Factory Connection suspension that I am gonna try to put the money into at least one or two Shane Watts clinics. Just did the update, Added a semi solid rear brake disk with disk guard, and TM designs chain guide. Looking forward to my trip to North Carolina at Brushy in two weeks. Gonna try out my FMF silencer and also my Akro silencer to see which one I prefer.
