We are planning an ISDE fundraiser for the Canadian team, approx 2 hrs east of Calgary, north of Brooks. The event will be totally fun, with no real competition, just good events that will keep young and all very entertained. BBQ and bevies Saturday nite with door prizes, and remaining goodies left over will be given away at the conclusion of Sundays activities. There is plenty of room for campers.

check out the poster for finer details

See ya there!!!!

Taff....not sure whether to luv you or hate you...

I wanted to for a long time...the riding in the Rockies gets a person to some places where the view is, lets say, unbelievable. However, the area that I ride, when I go there, is very difficult single track. And I don't mean to offend anyone, there is a wide spectrum of people who attend, and the place does not fit everyones needs. I didn't want to invite everyone into a hellride, like this,

essentially is my case. We want more of this

http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?set_a ... _photo.php

to get to this

But...given the pressure...I'll give it some thought, with some help for a place where dual sporters can have a hoot, with more than just scenery, but some points of interest, and the technical riders can have a hoot as well.

this is why I hate you...it didn't take long and I hate saying no to anyone  but, ya, I think we should consider it. If everyone wants to come, I'll sort it out for southwestern Alberta/southeastern BC. I'll search for a location other than my usual stomping grounds that will fill every need. It will be a 3 - 4 hr drive from Calgary, which is an international airport with direct flights from London, Frankfurt, Ampsterdam, Denver, Dallas, Houston, LV, LA, Phoenix...the list goes on. It will have to be summer months of the season, as snow is common mid May and early Sept.

Taffy, bring it up again after you are finished in Colorado, and I'll start working on it. I'm sorry to miss you all' there...especially Bobzilla's septic test.

just a teaser, check out this link -

Lee, I was going to talk to Scott before I posted, (he's away at an Enduro in the States) we do have some nice stuff that would meet the needs of the FR4 here in Southern Ontario as well. No matter where in Canada the event is held we are all up for the challenge. It would be great if this could come together.

i'm just glad you're still around to play with on the keyboard......

All fine by me Taffy.... If it works out, doing the FR4 would allow me a chance to contribute a little to UHE...I haven't much the last couple years...but, now things are different. Today the brand is booming and this is more social and more particitipants. Back in the day, it was a place for us 'odd ones' to feel we weren't alone.

Eddy, these pics were taken by Bruce Moffat when he came out in 05. The man had issues for the first while...he'd never been that high and still touching the ground. The first ride we took, late in teh day of arriving to camp, was up on top of a ridge, much like the one in Taffy's post. The visibility was poor, it was raining/snowing, and his eyes were as big as saucers as we talked and thunder came from the valley below us!! It kinda freaked him out...the next day we rode through a pass which was fully whited out and blizzarding, about 2 degrees C, the third weekend in July. Good times!!!! Trails are trails, but nothing beats the view from altitude...as we found out in Moab as well.

Taff if we do this...I'll find you a bike...but you best not make the news again with your antics...you were a suicide pilot on FR1. Just glad you survived to keep us on our toes here.

cheers

Being a flatlander I can understand Bruce's reaction, I felt the same way the first time I rode in West Virginia, by the way WV has lots of ridge riding but no real views and the elevation changes would be baby steps compared to what you guys ride. If you do this event I'll make the trip out for sure, actually can't wait. I might be out in May for the fund raiser if all works out, would like to get out for a ride with my son if he still working in Alberta, there's a chance that he might be in Sask by then.
