RACE REPORT: CANADIAN ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP (CEC)
JULY 11/12, 2009 – PENTICTON, BRITISH COLUMBIA
HUSABERG ON THE PODIUM AGAIN!
150 competitors headed west this past weekend to Penticton, British Columbia for Round 3 and 4 of the Canadian Enduro Championship (CEC). The event was held at the picturesque Apex ski resort and featured a 40 kilometer loop to be contested 3-times each day. The course reached a peak elevation of 7200 feet and included epic single track (mountain bike) trails, a mega natural grass track, and a gnarly enduro-cross track which caused havoc for most competitors.
Corner Grass Racing Team (CGRT) was in full force this week as the official Husaberg Factory entry. By this time in the series, you would be hard pressed to find a single person who is not aware of CGRT and their Husaberg association. How could you not take notice with four of these innovative ‘Viking’ inspired machines sitting side by side with pimped out Lime Nine replica graphics! Add the fact that the CEC is providing live play-by-play at the special tests and CGRT is getting a lot of airtime in Canada these days!
Shane Cuthbertson is proving to be a contender in the Pro E3 class and once again took the big ‘5-7-0’ to 3rd place on each day. “The bike is just amazing; I have nothing but positive things to say about its performance. The tests this weekend were so unique that I really need different power characteristics for each test. All I had to do was dial-in the map switch accordingly and I had exactly what I needed to propel me through the tests. Not to mention the bike never once had an issue with the severe elevation changes. I love EFI!â€Â
