Hi,

Probably get flamed for this question but here goes!

My 650 has been sat over the winter and the battery is flat as a pancake. Went to kick it over, not a sausage! So, is it possible to kick the bike over with a flat battery and how???

Yes. What do you mean by sausage? No fire, seized, what. Clean carbs, fresh fuel, etc. Do you have spark???

not a sausage - english term fer nowt or as you might say -zilch!

IMHO it should start on a dead battery with the kickstart, our ignitions do not require batterys to operate.Check for a stuck float, bad fuel etc. You did not mention what year 650, so which carb are you running? My bike has a Dellorto carb and when it sits around for long periods of time the floats stick. Let us know.

my battery is in a perpetual state of flatness :) and bike still starts when I fix all the other reasons that stop it from starting - petrol siphoning through carb OR stuck float ? and oil in carb from breather

mine was my daily commuter with no battery for about 3 weeks, only problem was no lights or ingicators so I made a small 12 v 3Ah Nicd pack for those as a temp fix.
