Can I use a 3 phase rectifier on the Berg?

I'd like to run a complete DC system on the Berg, but all I have are 3 phase rectifiers.
Is there any reason why I could not just combine the 2 yellow wires from the stator to one of the yellows on a 3 phase rectifier, the blue on another, and be done with it? (Leave one wire disconnected on the rectifier) Or do I need to buy a single phase rectifier?

Thanks!

I'm in the process of doing exactly the same thing. Have got a couple of reg/rect units - one off RGV250, the other TL1000.

I intended to just run the three wires to the three inputs on the rect/reg. I realise the SEM is just two output at are in phase with each other, but all this should mean is that of the six diodes/scrs in the rectifier section, four operate together at the charging current of one winding each while the last two have to operate at total current of both windings. I can't see why it should be a problem, but have not yet proved it.

I am no electrical wiz at all (read electrically stupid) and am currently trying to figure out the best way to light up my 97 for the street. With that being said do you intend to install a battery?

Take a look at this thread:

I saw that thread, and that actually got me thinking that it would be possible to use a 3 phase. I wish I knew more about electronics, but as it is I really do not.

I'm hoping Sparks will chime in.
