Hey folks! After removing the exhaust to change the bearing, seals and o-rings in the clutch cover/H20 pump i noticed the top end gasket was sweaty/wet so i thought id change that as well before it starts to leak..
So I need to break the timing chain and rivet it back together to get the head off, but would you suggest to change the entire chain or just a new rivet link? Also what specific parts of the valve train is to be checked since it's off the bike?
To clarify, it's a 2008 fe450 with 49.8 hours as of now, has been rode by me after the 32h mark. Chain is not off yet but the tensioner was 14 clicks out of 17 max, and has little play on the cam sprocket even with the tensioner off.
I know there is a lot of threads about this but nothing that I could conclude on anise most of them are already having more issues and I've had non but a small leak from weep hole.. probably bc of the long time period before me that it was just standing in a garage not being ridden.
Thanks, I really appreciate all help from experienced Berg riders!
