hi all guys!
a couple of months ago i asked my dealer to give a steel camgear to replace my aluminium made one on my 1994 fe 600. he did gave one originated from a 06' model that will fit right in as he told me. he only mentioned that the bolts needed to be shortened a bit.
i opened it this morning to do the job but i was surprised to see that the 2 camwheels where very different :( basicaly its dimensions and number of "teeth" are the same but the 2 holding bolts distance is way longer at the 06' camwheel.so is the hole in the center.

any way , can anyone tell me since when camwheels (and of course the camshafts) changed dimensions?

thanks in advance

My 2000 parts manual says the change came in model year 1997.

Here is the Cylinder Head page from the 89-96 parts manual
