Hey all. I just finished up a valve adjustment, my first one on my new FE570. It went according to all the tutorials and the book and was pretty simple. The only thing I'm worried about is I haven't seen any specific info on installing the cam chain tensioner and I don't want to mess that up. In the manual it says to compress it to get rid of the accumulated oil and then lock it compressed with about 3 mm sticking out. Install in that state and then push on the installed tensioner through the top nut. I did all that but I didn't feel anything change when I pushed on the tensioner through the top nut. Should I have felt it release or push down or anything at all? I'm afraid it'll remain compressed and not being doing it's job in there. Or does the oil just get in there and unlock it and create the tension it needs? (I know I should replace it with an aftermarket one. That's on the list.)
Thanks!
