Buying bike with reset hours/odo?

Hey there,
I'm considering buying my first Husaberg (used), and when I went to check out the bike today the ODO/Hours was insanely low for the amount of wear on the bike. It has just a few hours on it, but it looks like it has seen some hard terrain over the past five years.

It's a 2013 TE 300.

Even the owner was surprised, and we both agreed it had been reset somehow. I didn't get the impression he had intentionally somehow reset it.

The bike's battery was dead, but the speedo battery worked because we could check the hours with the engine off. It also has HID headlights installed.

Is this a problem that has occurred on other Husaberg bikes? Is there a reset button? What happened?

Has me a little tense about purchasing the bike.

Thank you for any help! I hope I get some advice before I inevitably buy this thing because I want it bad....

False hour meter readings are a common problem here in South Africa. Rather check out the bike carefully for signs of abuse, airbag and air filter cleanliness, gearbox oil colour, wear on frame, gear and brake levers, condition of the rims, braking disc wear...... I have seen bikes showing 50 hours but with more than 250 hours actual time. Do not be fooled, do your homework.

I know with my bike the previous owner had smashed the speedo and put a 2nd hand one on that had way more hours and km's than what it actually had done. Shortly after i was riding in ran and mud and water got in through a crack of the speedo and killed it.
Again i got a 2nd hand speedo that had some crazy hours so i reset it back to zero.
As Sunny said you cant trust the speedo readings and should judge the bike otherways

This is good to know.
I at least wanted to confirm I wasn't being fooled by some odometer reset scammer. But even he admitted that hours were clearly off.

I'll just rebuild the top end immediately and buy an aftermarket hours meter and hope for the best!!
