Buying a FE501 -03

Hi

Me and my pal is going to look at a FE501 -03. I just wanted to ask you experts what we should look for.

Where there any major issues in that year?

it's a lovely engine, certainly the best of that time and about the most reliable. however, it will need plenty of checking over!

the list is endless on a 6 year old bike of what could be wrong so i suggest that you make sure that it starts, that it runs well, rides well and then you have a good start.

starting can be a problem so don't accept any bull!

nothing stands out to look out for but i would ask for records of any rebuilds and when. by now it should have been treated to many new parts such as bearings etc.
