Well turning the new 2007 FE650 into a Rallye bike for the Australian Safari is now progressing well (it needs to be not long to go now less than 2 months to Stage 1 !!).

In short it is:

* 2007 FE650 new out of the crate
* Talon cush drive rear hub
* Excel Pro Signature rear rim laced to Heavy Duty 12g stainless spokes
* Joe Racer oil cooler (mainly to increase oil capacity)
* HB alloy bashplate
* BOSS 15L Clarke main tank
* HB 5.5L side tank
* Nomad 5.8L bumtank
* Ego Barkbusters
* Akrapovic slipon muffler
* Scotts steering dampner
* BRP 25mm riser submount bracket
* Lineaweaver jet kit
* Orangeberg water pump seal kit
* HB Thermo fan kit
* MD roadbook
* ICO VR Light odo X2 (Main & Backup)
* KTM Roadbook carrier frame
* KTM Fork bleeders
* either 16/48 or 16/45 gearing with Stelth sprockets
* Bridgestone Ultra Heavy duty tubes run at 26psi rear and 23-24psi front
* Michelin Baja and Desert rear tires
* Pirelli MT410 front tires
* Motul 300V 4T Factoryline 15W/50 oil
* LED dust light behind Bumtank

still to add
- changing springs and setting up suspension
- perspex fairing extension to top of headlight shroud
- converting tailight to LED's
- graphics

aiming for the first training shakedown run in a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Also there are now 2 confirmed Husaberg entries for this years Safari, me and another 650 from Melbourne being supported by the Valley Force Husaberg guys.

There is another one rumored to be also entering from here in WA on a 550, but havent heard from him or confirmation yet.

So thats 2 out of 60 entries confirmed so far.

Excellent mate keep us informed I wish you well :)

Just make sure you stay on the big girl.

Sounds great! ;) it would be interesting to see any pictures after you finish the transformation :)
and it would be much more interesting to try it :D
wish you luck, mate ;)

and the $

Sounds good Gazza
Going on your list it would seem like no change out of $20k for the setup !!!

Hey Gazza!

Need to see some photo's of this badboy! :evil:
Watch out for the camel's and kanga's.
Stay upright!
Todd

Went for the first ride today, felt great, Still a few things to do but almost done now.

Will go on a 350km shakedown navigation run in next week or so using roadbook only, to get up to speed again with the ICO and MD roadbook functions.

Feels very good compared to the big pig of a KTM 640 Adv I used in 2001 Safari, can't wait only 6 weeks to go !!!! :evil: :evil:

Gazza

I am working on my Husaberg FE550 for Rally dos Sertoes (www.dunas.com.br) a stage of World Rally Championship. Please let me know how the oil cooler is doing? Is it really necessary?

Tks

vb, still early days to know how effective the oil cooler is but the main aim was to add extra oil volume, it adds an etxra 650ml to the system so thats good.

The main thing now is I am looking at building a larger 1 litre oil tank for under the seat, so that will take the vloume up to 2 litres total, but that will be for next years Safari, run out of time this year.
