hi guys, i have an 08 fe450e. I've a broken intake valve spring, later on in the week ill be pulling the head to inspect the guide and seat and make sure the piston hasnt kissed the valve too hard if at all. I have some compression but not much, and the bike doesnt run. i am upgrading to a dvsk and have decided to go with kibblewhilte 96-96000. Shall i replace all 4 valves in the head? or just the one? i guess ill be hand lapping the new valve/valves to the head. can anyone give a rule of thumb on the contact patch ? I reviewed the fsm and it notes only max specs for the intake and exhaust contact patch width. anyways cheers!

I'd get two new inlets as they tulip anyway. you might even find the seats need a proper machined 'kiss'. the contact area on a standard machine is always more than needed. at a minimum I'd want 1.5mm. you'll likely have nearly 2.5mm.
