hi i have two broken ignition coils to a FS650 husa . 2002 broke two weeks apart and I do not know why . but I have a friend who is an electronics mechanic and he thinks he can make them if I get a diagram so he can see what the different parts are called . is there anyone who has the diagram . courtesy Benny westunnamed (1).jpg

Hi

Nice job opening them, maybe your friend can make the diagram, if you break them apart.

Never saw one published anywhere.

I get them repaired if you need too although i'm not sure who will want to repair anything that has had the crap beaten out of it.

regards

Taffy

my friend says that some of the components have a kind of code that he does not know . he needs diagram . otherwise he can not see what the component that is broken is called .

hi taffy
do you fix your ignition coils yourself . they are very weak or what I have two that are broken in two weeks how can it be . they're not cheap

firstly they are very strong!

they never go except for the following reasons:
the screw/helix post inside for the HT cable can snap off.
you have used an electrex stator. this will keep knocking your coil out...

I don't personally do them! I have enough I know and do now!

it is the original SEM stator sitting on the bike. I know I've been hard on the 1 on the picture but I just had to know what it looked like inside . , I can not afford to get it done right now. but think you can fix the one I have separated and I have broken it totally

Hey Taffy.
I have found a company called HPI which makes replacement coils for husaberg.
do you know anything about this company. does their product works.CD5006D_full.jpg

I have an ignition coil I have not destroyed. which has no sparkle. What will you give for it if you were to buy it from me

this is what they write on their website HPI.BE

Quality replacement CDI's and also stators for motorcycles with a SEM ignition.

The SEM ignitions were used on many European motorcycles, and have proven to be very unreliable.

Hi West

Let me tell you I can also get your CDI fixed and not so expensive. It's not just me, I have professional help.

That been said, the idea of a decent replacement pleases me, specially because I want to keep my bikes running for a long time ! You know that the repair thing it's not really a business, just small hobby, and there is a reason for that, these CDI's are not so bad, they don't brake very much. Not like the stators !! those are really bad !!!

The HPI or electrex replacement has been discussed a lot here (check older posts), the problem for me (from what I have understood) they only have one CDI with one advance curve, that I think it's most suited for the 450 ??
If that makes a lot of difference ?? can't tell
Maybe there will come a time that it's gone a be your only option, but for now I will keep using the old ones.

The idea of making the complete diagram of the CDI it's most interesting, if someone would be interested in striping one CDI completely and maybe ruining it. If that was the case, I'm sure I have the perfect guy to make the diagram, and even manufacturing other one, and probably improve it.

I made a diagram of my yz80 CDI like that when i was 14, It took a very long time :D

I don't know if it helped to have the diagram at the time because in the end i just put bigger main capacitors in there and more turns on the source coil ... ..

hi Zaga :)
When you fix the ignition coil .
are you doing upgrade on CDI and coil as bushmechanic do.
my bike broke two ignition coils in a month. I might just have been unlucky. if you upgrade . what does it cost to get you to make one for me . I have the one that is not taken apart. and I have it on the photo that you may have and make a diagramm from. If it is not too expensive rather than buying a new one . I am pleased that you are so helpful here in the forum :)

Hi West

No, the repair it's just the repair, no upgrades.
I haven't done that for a while, and I would have to talk to the other guy, but I think it would be around 100eur.

I don't understand why your bike is ruining the CDI's ??? that is not normal, specially if you are using the SEM stator. The one that I have in my 400 already had the problem of the broken screw, but after that fixed (2 years ago) it's been running fine.

Has your stator been rewind ?

Well the project of making the circuit diagram would be interesting, but it would need to be completely striped and probably it won't be good to use again.
