:( I had a bolt come loose on the head cover casting and now it is cracked. Cracked good. 2002 FE400e. Question: I maybe cannot buy just a cover because of the cam bore, but can the cover be welded up and align-bored as a repair option? I haven't heard of this problem yet here at UHE, but you guys best check your valve cover bolts! Any assistance on a course of action here would be greatly appreciated. Dale, I'm gonna PM you if you are reading this since you are intimately familiar with these top ends. Thanks everyone, BD

Hi Brad,
It is possible to obtain just the rocker cover though it will likely be a long time coming. Repair is indeed a viable option providing damage is not too extensive.

Perhaps you could send me a picture file of the rocker cover?

Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Dale

Ps
Said failure cost Husaberg an ISDE finish a couple of years ago.

Head cover

Thanks Dale. I'll take a picture tonight and get it off to you. I would think it possible to clamp it down well to a flat surface and simply weld it up and follow up with a good stress relieve of the weld. A bit of extra external metal along the crack might be a good thing! Brad (BD)
