well the last round of the sidecarX world championships were held in germany today and HUSABERG WON A GP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

GP winners on a husaberg - brown and peters
wrangway_brown.sized.jpg

this time it was stuart brown and luke peters of GB. they had a 3rd in the first heat and won the second followed by world champion janis hendrix of belguim on the LC4 katoom engined outfit.

stuart was at ken hall just a fortnight ago and his MJ appeared to be miles too big, they were following dutchmen thijs derks example but derks was not racing due to an injury for half the season and so it didn't seem the best example to follow did it!

the millards from the UK had an 11th and a 9th while my rider, mark kinge had an up and down weekend.

in staurdays practice they rumbled a right hand main, they then missed out the qualifying race while they borrowed a spare millard engine. this was a great jesture because the millards had just the one spare motor and not the normal two.

having missed the race they then had what is called 'last chance' this is when you go ape for a lap and then rest for one as you try to get a fast lap time in. mark qualified 4th from the 6 that got through. so he would have qualified 28th from 30 on row 2 and on the wrong side of the grid....not good. during saturday evening he rebuilt the motor with a new main in the right case and today, with his new stand in passenger david keane he got a 17th and then a 14th for his best ever result.

frenchman benjamin daniel got an 18th and 15th following mark home in both races. the swede soderqvist had a startline crash in race 1 and i think he called it 'quits' for the day.

i can tell you more later when i KNOW things but thanks to browny and STEPHAN from here at UHE i managed to persuade mark to go for the MEFO rear tyre, also a stronger rear spring. guess they worked!

the last round of the british championships are next sunday at winterpick farm near horsham in surrey. let me know if any of you are going?

the final round of the british championships due to be held this sunday at winterpick farm, horsham has been cancelled due to a lack of supporting solo's. i have stepped in - upon appeal for another track and secured the use of 'wildtrax' which is just 6 miles from me here.

it would appear that we'll be holding three races in the middle of a practice day!!!

i'm involved in laying down the gates and the local club - diss will be involved in supplying CoC, lap scorers, gates etc, the host circuit the ambulances and marshalls, the sidecar assosiation will find scrutineers, prize money also the ACU permit, course certificate etc etc.

man, talk about making something out of nothing!!!!! i've gotta see the hottest GP team once more this season mounted on a HUSABERG!!!!!

watch this space!

well i've stripped the kinge engine and feel that it didn't have enough crank float despite that which i gave it. "give her more cap'n" i hear is the cry! so more it will be except that we're going to roller crank at the same time.

tomorrow sees a thrown together championship round being held at the Ling circuit in north norfolk. that means that 98% of the field will be coming past my door to get to the track.

a great day for husabergs today at the last round of the british sidecarx event at Lyng in north norfok. it was an hour for me to get there and for everyone else in the UK it was 4-6 so real hometown stuff.

the usual husaberg suspects were there in stu brown and luke peters, dan and joe millard, mark kinge and kev foyle but they were joined by midland/oop north hero steve france who had beaten all (ok! 14 riders) in the AMCA championship.

steve france in race one. great rider and pie eater!

all rode 628s. brown's appars to be back to standard (bar a mains trick), millards run Ti valves and springs, kinge runs taffmeister jetting and i think the france motor is standard but a rare factory std 2008 engine. pulled from a new bike.

kinge and foyle on the taffmeisters husaberg

race 1
saw a clean get away for brown who was persude by the millards and they both cleared off by 5-8 seconds a lap. kinge hit the back of a pile up and was low and france who worked ihs way up to 10th from a row 2 start (that means an excellent effort!) had a front disc frag on the last lap.

race 2
saw the millards get away and make it interesting! was this the moment the new boys showed the 6 times champions of britian the way home? nope! 5 laps in and brown is clear. cornering speeds are phenominal and the millards are trying everything! kinge is up to 7th from a poor start when an outfit tips over in front of them and then falls back onto them trapping the passengers hand, the passenger runs off the track bawling on about his hand (i gather it hurt quite a bit!) while kinge can't get purchase to right the outfit. in the end the passenger of the other team has to help kinge to help himself. from this 18th was a poor reward. france had a good race and was stuck behind No.87 for the duration however they picked many off and he finished around 8th - good effort!

i had noticed that the gate went down near to the central hut first, "fanning out" along the line. i managed to persuade mark K that this wasn't a taffism and he chose a spot second from the hut desite being 7th to the line (7th choice).

race 3
millard and brown get away 2/3 and kinge slips into 5th when the outfit infront was kamakazee'd and kinge went into it, there were that many outfits in the pile up, first one in had to wait to be last one out!

from this one lap down situation mark watched his championship position drop to 9th. meanwhile france got with No.87 again but they did even better with 5/6 this time. looks as though steve france made the decision to race 'darn sarf' with the ACU next season - hope he has plenty of fuel vouchers!

meanwhile up froint, an extraordinary site which i may never see again. the leader came down a steep hill and stalled it on the only line (the track fell away after the width of an outfit), the millards belted into the back of them, brownie into the back of them and then more into brownie!

brownie was now in 6th and the millards third but it wasn't long before he passed botht he millards and the leader before pulling away with the millards still giving chase!

the british championship
the final standing saw stu brown and luke peters (HUSABERG 628) crowned champions with a near perfect score of about 16 wins and a second from 17 races, the millards finished third. towards the end of the season they ahve REALLY pushed brownie - awesome stuff!

a great season, great racing and husaberg domination! suck it up while its there boys coz nothing is forever.

next season the millards and brownie are going to have a ding-dong-doo!

great news about husabergs in the british and worlds for next season!

the millards and mark kinge are essentially sponsored by berkshire cycles and both are about to be supplied with brand new 2010 outfits. their sponsor has passed on both old outfits to riders that are keepig with the husaberg brand. ben blythe and a 17 1/2 year old etheridge (son of 10 times british champion chris), will be out on the marque!!!!

added to steve france coming down from the AMCA and now we go from 3 to 6 huseys in the field!

and for the brits, more great news. we have our first GP in 9 years. it will be on sunday 18th april (2 weeks after easter) at langrish near petersfield in hampshire! so i'm going to be pleading for all husaberg fans to get there for a home win with stu brown!

Taffy
