Anyone replace the stock FTE caliper with a radial Brembo? Is the caliper bolt spacing 100mm?

Thanks,

Mike

I've heard that some Brembo's are too wide and need the backside shaved a little to work. I'm looking to toss my FTE setup also. The caliper isn't bad, I just don't like the MC and I don't know if I can use the MC I want with the FTE caliper.

I just bought a Brembo MC 16X19 I think, and it completely transformed my bike. Totally. The best £200 I've ever spent on my bike.

They're in the Force catalogue.

I went ahead and put my old MC off of my WR450 sm (it's a TRX450r mc) on my bike. Works very nicely. Better feel, feedback, firmer lever, plus it has a light switch. The big bonus is, I can get readily available parts for it from Honda.

I bought a used magura caliper off an SMR KTM together with a magura disc. I still use the stock MC (FS '06). Works amazingly well with the right pads.

Speaking of brakes...
Does anyone know of a guy named Perry from around Chicago that races Supermoto. He ripped me off on a Magura set of brakes earlier this year. Sent him lots of money but did not get any brakes
Can any US authorities help me out in any way??

Did you send the money through the Postal Service? If so, I'd contact them and see if they can slap a mail fraud charge on him.
I'd try and find out if he's a member of other forums (supermotojunkie, thumpertalk) also and post a "Rip-Off".
Good luck.

I used PayPal.
He often uses the nick supermoto90 on various forums...
He lives in Wisconsin, not Illinois as I first said. But Milwaukee is not THAT far from Chicago

I'm pretty sure this is the guy....

I'm a member at SMJ also. I know quite a few folks on there. I'll do a little feeling around and see what I can come up with. Maybe I'll bump into him at a track. What did PayPal say? I'm sure they know who he is. I'm sure there is some way you can get your money back. This ain't Nigeria after all...

He has only made some 8 posts at SMJ so I don't think people there know him. To tell you the truth I haven't spent any time in this matter for some time now (and shouldn't spam this thread to pieces) and I don't remember where I let go the last time. Maybe I should get back to eBay and PayPal again. He had the stuff up on eBay but didn't get any bids there so we agreed on price etc "off-eBay".

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get, after all I sent him some $800 if I remember correctly, but for now I think we'll use PMs!? Maybe I'll start a new thread; "Help the naive swede"

Agreed.
SupermotoMike, you might want to contact Alice Racing. They sell Brembo and race KTMs and Aprilias. They should be able to tell you all you want to know about the caliper you want. They are pretty friendly folks.
