I'm replacing my rear pads for the first time and noticed they have a shim and insulator from the factory with Braking brand pads. I realised this could be why I haven't had the "ktm squeal" like the orange bikes have. (Or do they have them too?). While installing the new EBC pads, the package has a sticker on it that says, "Do not fit original shims and insulators". To find out why, I went to the EBC website and found the following info regarding the FA368X pads:
"FA368X A. 64 x 41.6 x 9.25 mm B. 64 x 41.6 x 9.25 mm
Dealer Stocking Recommendation Single/Pair 1 Popularity # N/A
Competitor X Ref SBS 791 Vesrah VD997 Ferodo FDB2165
1 left, 1 right
Refit old shim & insulator"
So do I use the original shim and insulator or not?
