Brake Light Issue

The light appears to be on all the time. But when I pulled in the brake the light SLIGHTLY goes brighter.

I was trying to get my M2 license and first they check your bike, the guy couldnt see it and so he said it was not working. How can I fix this in a timly manner?

2005 FS650E 1500 km/s

Also I am getting DRC LED signals, do I just need to get a LED style Flasher Relay ?

Interesting Fact.

I changed it out for a LED Bulb and it DOESNT turn on if the Light Switch is OFF Unlike the older bulb which was on all the time.

I got an 1157 LED Bulb, you can tell when your pressing the brake but it doesnt seem to be as bright as the old one.

Hmm...

Does your bike have a hydraulic brake light switch on the back brake? Chances are it is almost shorted out, letting some power through to the light. When you pull on the front it then sends full voltage to the light making it brighter.

If the rear switch is mechanical you can sometimes get them to work again by flushing them with lots of WD40 and working them on & off.

Yeah it does have one on the rear brake pedal. At the moment I am going to leave it, but I think it was odd that switching lights from bulb to LED proved that something was wrong with ther BULB because it stayed on when I had it off. LED is only on when I turn it on. That bulb was rather new as well.

Can't be the bulb at fault if it is on when it is supposed to be off - its gotta be in the switching part of the circuit.

Well the problem is now back, the light is only when it should be off even with the LED and it is stay on as if Im pressing the Brake.

Speedo doesnt turn on either when I turn on the bike, only if I move it or turn it on manually.

This weekend Id like to tackle the valves and check the wiring on the brakes.

The speedo will only turn on when it senses wheel movement or if you hit a button on it. This is normal. I would look at your brake light switch as mentioned above.

Checked the wiring, pulled off the rubber cap on the senor, looked fine. Pulled out the connector near the frame looked fine, all is working so far.
