Research did not reveal any info on this item so please excuse if this has been hashed over already. Has anyone tried or had experience with the Boyesen Quick Shot Accelerator Pump cover for the FCR Keihin?Supposedly this supplies fuel to the motor in greater volume and with more velocity during the first 1/8th of the throttle turn, vastly improving the off idle response. And if it works is it worth the almost $100?
 
I thought what it did was ensure that there was no air bubbles in the AP squirt.
You could try one of those for $100 or you could buy a jet kit from Dale and not have to worry about the AP any longer.
 
Sorry DB but the consensus here (I think) is that the Quick Shot is a worthless gizmo. If you buy one let us know if you like it. Does your bike have a bog or stumble right off idle that you are trying to cure?

Actually my 450 fe responds decently off idle --just thought I might be missing out on an answer to problem I don't even have.. Since they say it's a "must have for all 4 strokers" I couldn't help it being the gizmo sucker I am.

Its the magazines saying "must have". Advertising pay the bills. Unfortunately its mostly consumers with jetting issues that are buying the gizmo to eliminate off idle bogging which I have mostly read does not. Fine tuning the jetting is usually all that is needed. Dales kit eliminates the pump completely which may tell you something. My 05 450 also carburates fine with no bog or hesitation. Someday I will install Dales kit but for the time being it is good.
 
I have install before 1 year this pump.waiste of money.look a photo with head burn results. i send it today in my gallery.its from lineawheaver jet kit.
 
My 05 Fe550 has no stumble/bog off idle................I believe this is due to the previous owner (Dave Jennings at Jennings ATV/Cycle in PA) getting it jetted correctly. It always starts hot or cold and have never had to use the hot start button.

Riding w/ the boys is a lot of stop/start and the 'berg handles it well.
