hello guys, had great success in rebuilding my 1996 fe600, rod it all winter, it even started in the -10 Celsius ranges???
only problem was I was a idiot and used to much throttle for to long and pit the rod through my bottem end

now for my question, I can get a used 1999 bottem end case only right now that reasonably priced this one has an oil pump.
will all internal parts, transmission gears, crank ect ect from my 1996fc600 fit into the 1999fe600 bottem end case???
new rod, piston, seals and bearings I will need from you taffmeister lol!!!

silly boy!

I would leave the old gearbox and concentrate on a later gearbox for the 1999 engine. the gearbox is the same from 1997-2008. just change the clutch as well etc.

I am in Sweden a month today. I'll have that bottom end off you as a deposit for your parts!

regards

Taffy

yes I was basically devastated when that happened.
something gets released from me when motors roar, and tires spin,
and I turn into a 36 year old boy.

any ways I was really hoping to keep that six speed gear box cause it's so smooth and nice. I don't want to get some used part that's been abused.

I wonder could I swap my fe600 bottem end into a fc600. I'm thinking I'll have to change cranks since my fe crank has the counter balancer on it.

why did jesus make my bike die???
I'm open for options and I like yours Taffy, I'm just concerned about finding all the parts, and the price for basically a whole new 1999 engine might be on the steep side!!

but all help and ideas are welcome, thanks again Taffy..
