Just wanted to give a huge shout out to Rick and Tammi at Boss Offroad !I was thinking about a new FE 390 ( had a 2005 FE 550 at the time ). Had talked to local dealer ( east coast - ) and once I started asking about dual sport, tags, etc they pretty much gave me the brush-off.
Having seen posts on here about BOSS and dual sport kits I gave them a call. It was the best thing I could have possibly done. 5 minutes into the conversation it was obvious Rick and Tammi have a passion for what they do.
The 390 was going to be the first new bike I had bought since a Bultaco Pursang ( yeah - I'm old ). Have always ridden good used bikes and then personalized to my needs. This time I wanted a new bike built to my specs and ready to go.
Rick spent a lot of time on the phone with me over the course of a month or so. We talked about where we ride, what type of riding, and the things that I thought I wanted on the bike. Rick made some suggestions based on his experience w/ the new 'bergs.
Originally I was a bit hesitant about the east-west coast thing but as I said above the first five minutes on the phone with Rick took care of that.
The bike arrived a couple of weeks ago. It was beautiful !! I only have about 4 hours on it but it was in the tight, rocky, rooty woods of central PA coal region. Still working on suspension tweaking but the bike is simply amazing. The FI is unbelievable . It's so responsive that it takes a bit to get used to ( and my 550 was jetted spot on ).
The additions to the bike were: Rekluse Z-start Pro, Cycra Pro bend handguards, Fan kit, low seat, radiator guards, aluminum skid plate, clutch slave cylinder guard, frame guards, pipe guard ( see a theme here LOL ? ), map switch, front axle pull, TM chain guide, and a BOSS offroad dual sport kit.
So if you are looking for customer service at it's best - I would recommend Rick and Tammi at BOSS Offroad.
