blue cable from stator to 1 of 3 yellow from rectifier

when the bike is idiling the voltage is 13, it maby works for 30 seconds, the the voltage goes down to under 10 and the bike dies...

Erik,

You have some sort of short cicuit taking place within in the Regulator rectifier.

i got a brand new regulator from a friend today so i will replace it later today and see if that helps.

Just another thought if you want to use an after market regulator rectifier say like the one from Trail Tech then what you need to do to get full AC power from the SEM is to join the two yellows together and feed it as one cable along with the Blue, this is putting both windings in pararell.

i replaced the regulator and tried another cdi but the problem is still the same...
shortcut somewhere?

This is effectively what happens when you connect the three wires from the stator to a three-phase, six diode rectifier. The two rectifier diodes on the blue wire act as the bottom two in a single phase rectifier. The two diodes on each of the two yellow wires end up working in parallel to act as the top two in a single phase rectifier. Have I got this wrong? If this is correct, it will not matter which of the three rectifier wires goes to the blue stator wire, just as long as the three wires are connected.

Erik - As Sparks said, you should be able to run the bike with the 12V system completely disconnected. The spark and 12V systems are separate.

i asked a swedish guy from Åmål who works a lot with SEM and he also told me that i could disconnect this three wires but when i did that the bike wont start... very wierd...
 
hello I am having the exacts same problems with my 2002 Husaberg fe400e not sure were to go from here I replaced the stator with an rm stator and the bike runs well for 5 minutes then backfires the carb and valves have been professionally done by web power sports in Ellensburg Washington
