Blocked Injectors Outside Australia?

Gidday Everyone,

Let me start by saying how much I love my new Berg (FE450 2010 Model). Absolutely fantastic after coming off a 99 RMX 250

A mate of mine has a 2009 FE570, and I recently helped him sort out a blocked injector. He runs a pump filter (sock type) but not a pro-fill tank filter.

It makes sense that the bike needs a filter, as they have them in EFI cars, but then Sherco's and other EFI bikes don't run a filter and don't block injectors up.

I have heard through the grapevine that Husaberg's "Official" theory is that we have too much Ethanol in our fuel here in Australia, but no-one here really runs fuel with any ehtanol in it, unless they are putting it in non-labelled fuels?

The theory still doesn't hold water, as other brand bikes with EFI aren't having the same problems.

So, are other countries experiencing injector blockages? Do other countries have ethanol content in there fuel?

Cheers Y'All.

Tony

We run ethanol in Arizona during 1/2 the year. I have not heard of any injector problems. It's kind of strange like with the pre 09 bikes. Aussies had main bearing problems on the 550 and 650's. I didn't hear of very many here that had problems. None that I know of personally.

Dont use the E-10 fuel they sell here in Australia in your bike.

Stick to the 98RON (or 95 RON if no other choice) - I only use BP ultimate 98 or Caltex 98 RON. I also use a pro-fill tank filter for peace of mind - cheap insurance - sometimes the neck filler of my fuel can has gunk in it.

I used E10 fuel in my 1997 Ford Wagon by accident - picked up the wrong pump filler when in a rush and it killed my fuel pump 20 minutes later.

Thanks Fella's.

Fizz, this is happening to the Safari teams as well as average punters, none of whom would ever run e10.

I helped a mate clean his 570's injector and it did indeed seem to be some sort of varnish that was blocking it, but other brands seem to go un affacted. Weird :?
