Has anyone done this? If so can you tell me how to do it!

I have and 11 plate FE450

Many thanks.

You have to remove the slave cyclinder to get at the bleed. Remember this is mineral oil not brake fluid. Best to do as advised and empty the master cylinder and then force the oil up from the nipple on slave leaving 4mm from full so you can replace the master cap. Best to buy the bleed kit with the syringe as it is not much more that the oil alone here and makes the job easier.

I'm doing this for the first time too. Was thinking of using 2 syringes. One to fill from the slave cylinder and other to suck out excessive fluid from reservoir, or just let it overflow until it's bled.

Mineral oil = hydraulic oil? Ohlins 5w fork oil should be just fine as it is most likely hydraulic oil. Maybe too good for clutch, but thats what I have.

I was confused at first because I couldn't get at the bleeder but removal of the slave is easy. A syringe with a tube connected to the nipple at the bottom and with a helper with a syringe at the resovoir. I got the syringes at the local feed/animal supply store. Super cheap. Clear tube from the hardware store. Your local mountain bike shop will also have mineral oil.

When you pull the slave, does any oil come out? Do I need to lay the bike over on its side or anything?

A small amount came out of mine because the slave was leaking but other than that I did the job upright. Why the need for the slave bleed?

this method works for me, take resovoir cap off,top it off, open bleeder valve, pull clutch lever in,close bleeder, release clutch lever, repeat all steps usually 2 or 3 times is all it takes if all components are good.

I did the clutch today. Syringe, tubing and 5w Ohlins fork oil.

Filled from bottom and watched when no air bubbles entered reservoir (overfilled purposely). 10min job.

Bled mine yesterday with hopes that it would make the finding neutral situation any amount better.

Mine leaked a little engine oil when removed. That little green gasket cracked, but i just put it back in place for now.

The old fluid was dark, but otherwise fine. I didn't really see much sign of air when I pushed new 5wt fork oil up from bottom.

Finding neutral was unchanged, and as difficult as ever.
