Hey guys,
I'll give you the quick and dirty. My 2005 FS650 was starting and running fine (kick or button) but one day I'm on the street when I hear and smell fuel leaking onto the engine case. The frame rail near the petcock on the left side must have gotten very hot and burned a small hole in the plastic fuel line.
Anyway, I replaced the fuel line and while doing so I re-routed the T connector and used a smaller section of fuel line without really thinking about it. The thing is, the bike won't start now! I thought maybe some fuel got in and fouled the spark plug, so I replaced that. Still no luck.
There is fuel in the lines, the spark is good, and compression isn't a problem. However, I'm not entirely convinced that fuel is getting to the carb. Why? Because I can twist the throttle to prime, or kick like a banshee, and I don't get an overpowering smell of fuel...I can't seem to intentionally flood the engine.
Do the two fuel lines have to be the same length? And does the T connector have to be located above the carb or anyplace in particular?
I'm not mechanical so I apologize in advance for what is probably something stupid. Any help would be appreciated.
