took the 470 out to a track on the weekend ,everthing was ok bumped it first time ran then stopped suddenly so started it again and it ran for 10 seconds then stopped so i changed plug checked for any loose wires put it all back together it started ran for a few seconds then stopped , checked plug and it looked wet like it was getting fuel so had a friend tow me round a field and same started ran for a few seconds then stopped . were do i start ?

Having assitained it is getting fuel and you have checked all the electrical connections there is a good chance it could be the stator starting to play up.
Do a resistance check on the stator between Black and Red and Black and Green.
You should get either,
3000
165 Ohms or
1750
23 Ohms.
What year is your 470?.

You need to remove the tank and check the ground connections and voltage regulator. I had the bolt that holds the one on my '02 FE650 to the frame come loose after installing a new stator and had weak, intermittant spark ( or no spark at all) until I tightened it up.
ok then , im no electriction so might be ******* this reading up , it says 120 on the black green wires but on the red black wires it only reads 1 until i put the multi meter up to 20k on the settings and then it reads 3.24, does this make sense to anybody .
