after rebulding my 650 -06 engine I took it for a 5 minute testdrive, coming back i was checking for any leaks when i suddenly remembered i had forgot to fill the cooler, ****! After adding water and letting it cool down i tried to start it, no problem, but water leaking and a lot of smoke in exhaust, so now its back to tear it down again. I´ll start tomorrow morning tonight i´m gonna drink alot of beer :-(

Man, very sorry to hear about that. I once tried to run-in a freshly built VW engine, having forgotten to install the oil pickup tube. I was very careful to ensure it was full of oil but unfortunately it didn't matter :)

I wish you the best memory with the subsequent build!

engine taken apart as far as clutch, will do the rest tomorow, nothing seems to be broken yet,the good side of doing this it´s going a lot faster than the first dismounting.

Engine is now compleatly dismounted, it seems the headgasket was the reason for water in oil and lots of smoke, everything else seems to be fine. I was thinking about replacing pistonring, oilscraperring, 3 O-rings on cylinder, valveseals, waterpumpseal, and headgasket , does anyone have anything else to add to this list?

just the head gasket fella. make sure the liner is absolutely flat as well to the top of the cases.

most people will leave the case screws lightly snugged, install the head without the gasket and tighten down the headbolts, then tighten the case screws, remove the head and so on.
