I took the chance to save a few bucks and went for a YUASA YTZ7S knock off instead of the real thing. Although according to the specs the dimensions were identical, it wouldn't fit.

any chance of a full photo?

the batteries don't fit anyway. maybe you had a similar YTx5-L battery already. it falls in but all the YTZ and CTZ batteries have to thumpd in to fit. i have found it best to break the spot weld open.

the factory upgraded the carrier in 2005 and i trust one of the changes was another 3-5mm on the ID of the carrier.

thanks for the word though....

Hmmm....So I'm not the only one that had to use a sledge hammer, 3 monkeys and a cross dressing midget to pound the battery into its holder?

The battery I got was a cheaper version of Yuasa and I figured that is just what you get when you buy junk. The worst part is, the bloody thing won't hold a charge anymore and I've been kicking it for the last 6 months as I've been dreading trying to get the thing out of the holder again. I figured I'd end up breaking it and burning my eyes out with battery acid.

Thanks for the tip on breaking the spot weld Taff.
