Best spot to put a 190F temp switch

What would be the best spot to put a Selco temp switch that closes at 190F and opens at 160F, in a DIY fan configuration?

I was thinking about putting one by the inlet (where the coolant arrives from the pump). But at that position, would the temperature rarely go under 160F?

I could also place it at the top, which would also save on cabling and hide the temp switch from trouble.

I also will use a DPDT switch, so that I have one temperature-activated circuit and one all-the-time circuit, in case the Selco or its circuit fails.

Call me crazy but I was even thinking about making a PWM board but, really, it's a dirt bike, okaaayy.

Thanks for the input.

For those who wonder, the fans will be two Vantec PC fans, 119 CFM for 1A ($10 at Newegg.com) and they will be in a push configuration, bolted to my BOSS guards (thank you Bendberg).

I'd think a switch that opened at 190 degrees would be what you want. 160 degrees isn't even proper operating temperature. Even at 190 degrees, your fan will be running a bunch, probably too much. Of course, with radiator guards, plus the fact that you are further blocking air flow with your fan installation, you'll probably need them for sure now.

I don't know what temp the factory fan for the '06 and later Husabergs activates, but I'd guess it switches on at 210 degrees or so.

I expect them to be running non-stop while riding, unless I am dual sporting on the road at over 75 mph (maximum speed imposed by the helmet visor).

Since they are to be directly connected to the battery, the idea is to let them run for a while after the bike is off and for them to turn themselves off after a while.

If the engine is off, there should be no coolant circulating, which means that the bottom should cool down rather quickly. I'll just try there and tell you.

As far as blocked circulation from the fan, I think it will be negligible, since the fans let air circulate when off.

I have read many comments from PC fan users who seem to appreciate them.
