Sorry, did not mean to add to the confusion.
I do not know who makes the CTZ7S. The important part of the number is ...Z7S. That is what designates the size. The YT, CT, GT or whatever is just the individual manufacturers specifc coding system. There are a few manufacturers that use YTZ7S as a part number, others use coding specific to thier company name, such as GTZ7s, made by GS battery, sYTZ7s used by Scorpion, UTZ7s used by Universal battery co, etc.

To speak specifically about Yuasa, they make and sell batteries under Yuasa, GS battery, and Motocross brand. They do a bit of private labeleing for other companies as well.

Simple folk generally buy the most expensive things they can, assuming that "You get what you pay for". In the absence of any further understanding that generally gets stuff that works. You also get to tell your mates how yours is better (more expensive) than theirs.

Unfortunately the standard 5xxx doesn't turn over an 02 650, certainly not mine and that is with all the de-comp mods in the docs, correct oil etc. etc.

i have the same bike.
mods rarely work since the timing of the lift is as important, if not more, than the amount of lift

If the 5's were ok then why do they use 7's as standard now?

since the systems themselves have been redesigned.
the engineered sytem is just that,,a system. you cannot expect to modify critical parameters without some ill effects.

Evolution.
???? the system does not 'evolve' since it is a static design.

I did a test or sorta of. My bike wasnt not turn over the engine fast enough or sometimes at all. I put it on a battery tender device 1amp hour 12 volt deally for about 2 - 3 hours and now it starts rate up.

Yeah yeah, sods law divided by the rate of inflation is fine but for us simple fen folk, which is best...the Ctz 7s which championed by some due to its glass fibre internals or the more expensive gel Ytz 7s which I believe is recommended by Husaberg ??

yes, for latter years,,,which had other changes, not just the battery model.

I could listen to you Tuts and run the standard battery and kick start the bike all the time, but i think your Bunnies suffered enough!

Instead i'll make do with a 7 and use the start button.

It might be a static design, but my static design has evolved in my garage since performing a few of the mods in the docs.

So Z7S is the way to go & the prefix is irrelevant ?

But what do you recommend YT/ CT / GT / GBH / OMD / SBD / FART.

Perhaps I should ask - what battery in the Z7S should be avoided.

I'm tempted to go with Taffs CT ??

Personally, I wait with baited breath for the next Tuts avatar....never seems to disappoint.

from my experience anything with the prefix "C" means it is made in China/taiwan...batteries,helmets... etc
