Have just bought motard rims and a Beringer 310 rotor.
My question is can i use my stock Brembocaliper with the rotor?

I`ve also got a adater for relocating the caliper but thatone is for a 320 rotor
Haven`t tried it yet because the snow is still on the ground.
It`s a-06 Fe 450e,

Please tell me i dont need a new caliper

Hi Andersson!

Which adapter you have?
If your adapter is Husaberg&KTM # 58413014000, this is adapter for 320 mm rotor (usually # 58309060000).
For Beringer 310 mm rotor # 80009060000, you`ll need caliper # 80013015044 (6-piston blue Beringer)...
... or custom made adapter.

Cheers, Goran

Both 4 piston and 6 piston will fit without any adapter. The 4 piston caliper will work just fine with the original master cylinder. The cheapest solution is of course to use the 58309060000 rotor in combination with the 58413014000 caliper bracket but it will easily fade on the track.

Beringer caliper will fit like a glove. This is FS `04 combo! Please, keep in mind that you still have FE master cylinder, meaning not so "strong" as FTE radial from FS!

Will the FE master cylinder really be sufficient and provide enough fluid to the 6-pot brake caliper?
Have you tried it? I know it works with the 4-pot caliper (i use it on my -02 FE)
Would be a scary moment if the lever on the FE master cylinder bottoms out before any real braking power has taken place... :eeeek:

The FS combo for -04 is 6-pot caliper connected to a KTM Duke master cylinder which is larger than the FE master cylinder.

(dream combo right now is 6-pot caliper connected to a radial master cylinder from a -05. :laughing6: )

No, I did not try. I have FS so no need for new brakes. But I know some guys with Beringer rotor and caliper and FE master cylinder. What they say is "usable, better than stock FE caliper".
IIRC, some even race SM with FE master cylinder - German S2 champion Jochen Jasinski, me thinks.

I would like to try new Magura SM brakes, as seen on 07 (08 too?) orange SMR.

Beringer

We have diffrent set-up with Beringer 6-piston caliper.
1. With a 13mm Beringer Airotec radial master cyl- works perfect
2. Magura 15mm radial master cyl- gets a little bit harder to press.
3. A brembo std master cyl, 16mm dia- brakes well but hard to press.

With a Beringer 4 piston caliper we have tried following:
1. 13mm Airotec- works perfect.
2. FE Enduro master cyl- Works OK.
3. Brembo 16mm master cyl- Way to hard for us to use.

We have a few FS calipers from 2005-2006, Radial, fore sale, complete with lower end for the fork.
We use the 2004 combo, due to we change wheels when we ride on the ice, and the new FS radial system dont allow FE brake caliper.

If you wish to use radial FS brakes on the FE the wheel will be 8mm offset to clear the spokes and the disc have a spacerring.

It works very good. I like it better than my Husqvarna Brembo setup.
