After a good trashing on friday the berg (2000my fc501) is now stuck in 3rd gear. The oil is clear with no bits in any ideas ??. The gear lever will move slightly but will not engage any other gears. Also has anybody seen a quiet core insert for a fc exhaust. Thanks

You probaly have burred your shift plate. Pull the LHS sidecover off and dismantle the shift mechanism. File off any burrs on the flat sliding plate and it should all be good again. Common cause of non shifting Bergs.

I had a ktm 520 do the same stuck in 3rd two weeks ago it ended up being a 1st gear tooth broken off and jammed under the indent roller not allowing the selector drum to move but thats a ktm be interested to here why your one wont move hope its not as expensive and time consuming to fix
