Berg/KTM parts cross reference

Does anyone have a cross reference of parts and part numbers between Berg and KTM. I have a 2006 FE450.

I am having a hard time getting the parts I need. I know there are a lot of overlapping parts I just don't know what matches exactly. There are some subtle diffferences. I' d hate to have this delay in the middle of the race season.

...And I know that we are trying to develop the Berg dealer system for parts as well as bikes but its over a month now.

Anyone???

I don't mean to sound cynical, but this is your first post, and it almost sounds like a "sky is falling" post by a non-Husaberg fan. Have you contacted a stocking dealer, such as BOSS or Motoexotica? Have you checked the "Owner's Doc"? There are lots of crossover parts. Maybe some examples of what you are looking for. I'm sure within a few responses to this post you will find what you are looking for. From what I can tell, parts supply is quite good.

I found out today that Dealers have access to just the type of cross-reference tool you are asking for. I went in today to my dealer (KTM, also sells Husabergs) and he did not have the Husaberg PN, but cross referenced right to a matching KTM PN. It sure would be nice to make the cross reference available to all.

Hi Fritz
Thanks for comming out of the woodwork about being a dealer. Recently I have just started looking into a berg for an onroad/offroad bike.
I am hoping to buy some time within the next year. I have to sell a couple bikes first.

One thing that I find very frustrating about dealers. Is there web sites. It would be very helpful is dealers would list bikes instock both new and used. The internet has become such a large part of our lives that it has now become the main tool for bike shopping.
I would have no problem driving to pickup a bike or having one shipped. Infact I have done this before. But it's a gamble to spend time on the road in the hope that a dealer will have the bikes instock.

So putting the current inventory on line would be a big help.

Also I don't see a problem with vendors listing their websites on sites like this one.

Regards
Hair

Does any US dealer ships to Brazil? I am having a hard time to buy Husaberg parts here, I am waiting since March 2006 to the Husaberg Distribuitor import some spares such plastics and sprockets.

re: Parts number cross reference....

Thanks, Fritz. thats what I was trying to get a handle on. My closest Berg dealer is 1.5 hours away. There is a KTM dealer 10 minutes away. So, I'll just go into the KTM dealer and cross my part number from my manual to theirs and if it matches, I'm good to go.

Hey TM Enduro guy...I am a huge fan. Ever since spending 4 days riding in the mountains in southern Alberta with fry-guy, I was hooked. I had the pleasure of switching between a 450 and a 550 every day. I'll post photos that will make you drool - as soon as i figure out this web site.

And having been a Yamaha rider for ever I got used to getting instant parts. My Sponsor Dealer was outstanding. Gave me bikes, parts etc for all my ISDEs. That I miss. I am choosing to pay my own ticket just so I can be on a Berg. Now I'll be using blank graphics "your logo here"...any offers out there?????

My bike is Valterri Salonen's 2006 #5 WEC factory bike. I am looking to enter the Cdn and US WEC rounds this summer. Wish me luck.

On a similar note:

When Wattsy (Shane) was contesting the GNCC rounds he found himself in the situation of not having a clothing/gear sponsor.

Apparently he took a black spraycan to his gear to hide the manufacturers identity, rather than give them "free " exposure, on apparell he paid for out of his own pocket.......

An appropriate sponsor soon stepped up........

From what I can tell, all of the hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) numbers are KTM numbers, as is any number that starts with a "500" There are one or two parts in the "800"'s that cross over, but those are mostly Husaberg numbers. Hope this helps, but if you look at the parts book it will all make sense...
