Hi All,

I`m in need of some help.

I lost some clutch fluid after a spill and now need to bleed the clutch.I`ve tried the normal way and aslo used a syringe to reverse bleed it and still can`t get the fluid in.
I`ve cleaned out the bleed nipple that was blocked but still no clutch.

I have the clutch lever out and it was workin fine before the air got in it.

What am i doing wrong ????

Cheers Bob.

these can be a real bastard to bleed sometimes i usually tap the master cylinder gently with a spanner while pumping the lever , u will see the little bubbles come out the top. also i have found that it takes ages and you seem to get nowhere then in about three pumps u get full clutch so persevere. also sometimes if u remove the slave cylinder and push it all the way back in this can sometimes help ,it pushes the air out of the cylinder, make absolutely sure your clutch line is not weeping as u will never bleed the clutch if it is leaking
good luck.

your clutch lever may be over adjusted inwards, you need to get it slackened right off so the piston can ping all the way out. barkbusters/handguards are guilty of keeping the levers in a little.

Taffy

Thanks for the replies guys,

I`ve taken the lever and hand guards off so they are not in the way.

The hose isn`t blocked so what else can it be that stops the fluid getting back up the cable ?

What fluid should i be using ?

Thanks again Bob.

you can buy the fancy oil from ktm but i have always used transmission fluid and never had any problems but you have to bleed all the old crap out first.

Good News all done :D :D

Got some of Halfords own LHM and used that in the end.

Had to dismantle the master cylinder to get it to bleed through proper in the end.

For some reason even with the lever off the bike it just wouldn`t reserve bleed.

But all sorted now.

Cheers Bob.
