Battery voltage and power / throttle response in 70-degs?

Hiya,

Just went for a short spin on my 570 with a fresh, topped-up battery in. I ... it ran quite a bit stronger than I remembered?! As in instead of it being relatively easy to have the front wheel slip to the sky, it felt HUNGRY and the wheel WANTED up and there were JOLTS to the chassis! I'm not sure if I was imagining it or not. Have you felt battery health to affect the power delivery in any way? As in the fuel pump pressure having an effect?

Pretty sure the previous battery was getting rather tired. Most likely it was the original battery from 2009 :) (New one was a 4-cell LiFePO4 fwiw which starts the bike VERY well.)

My bike 2011 and I suspect orig. battery as well.

I am definitely suspect of the battery as it happened few times out in the bush that she would not start the first time. Then the other day, I was replacing a coolant in the garage and did check run, she would not start again, not until I topped the battery off for 2hrs on the charger .... which makes zero sense, because we are in the middle of a summer (no colder temps and hard starts) and my last ride was combination of slow and quick stuff an I have just a stock headlight, no other auxiliaries.

Which 4-cell LiFePO4 have you put in?

Thanks

4s1p 26650 "motorcycle start battery" from A123rc.com! hard to get a link atm on mobile but can/will later

Yep! I might try to waterproof it or something at some point but I don't see the immediate need though

I take it as irresponsible marketing - "hey the customers want it!" - until I see proof that it isn't!
