Just wondering what they are for the 05 fe450e.

I know absolutely nothing about the proper settings. I have adjusted sag before and assume it should be 100mm, is this right?
What about the other ones like compression and rebound. Is there a good starting point? I'm 6'1", 200lbs w/o gear. The trail I ride go from sandy loamy to rocky and extremely muddy all in the same day.
what could you lads recommend.

Thanks

check your front end sag as well but should be ok with 200 pounds on board.

it'll come, be patient.

would you like us to ride it for you?

:D :D

Your rear rider sag should be 110 mm, 100mm will stinkbug, pogo and 'wobble'!! Settled sag, only the weight of the bike, should be 30 - 35 mm. PDS set up is backwards to linked systems in procedure, so do your settled first, then rider. If your rider sag is more than 110mm then you need a stiffer spring.

I'm 240 and have ran 4.6 fork springs and a 8.4 shock spring in the 05 450, however I found out in Slovakia that my fork spring was too stiff and should have been a 4.4. Try the stiffer fork spring first, even just one 4.4 in one side to stop diving during decel. If things seem balanced, let 'er buck, if not try both springs. The rear spring might be ok for you, but see how it sucks up and tracks.

06s have the 4.4s and dampening changes that I will not change. After some time on a 550, it seems well balanced stk which is suppa'!!!

Best of luck

do you do a sag test on the front?

was that spring softer to make up for some fairly stiff shimming? the reason i ask is because the .44 seem very, very soft for such a big man (i'm keeping a straight face here right!) and i weigh 200 and still went to .46s.

i always valued husawannabe who has won many national titles i believe and he ran amazingly soft springs. i think he weighed 175 and ran 40s.

i know there's really only one right way but i think you'd agree that the figures and data are all over the bloody show.
