Hello all. I just did 2,545 miles from San Felipe to Todos Santos and back on my 2006 FE650. It didn't weep one drop of coolant or oil and the bike ran flawlessly. What a fantastic machine. The 650 has such a huge grin factor with all that usable torque. Nothing like riding away from your buddies on the beach in deep sand at 50mph on 1 wheel while their 350 motors are screaming. Glad I've been collecting them. I think I may need a coupe more. The Baja was absolutely stunning with more wildflowers than there have been in the last 30+ years, and so green. The big hurricane in 2014 wiped out numerous roads which made for some challenging days.

There is no other bike quite like a Husaberg 650:cool:

Changed it when I could get oil. About every 300-450 miles. Used oil for heavy duty diesels with CJ ratings equivalent to Rotella.

Thanks for checking in Colby. Back in Moab, what, in 2007?, I think your 650 at that time had like 800 original hours on it. Glad to see you are still at it!

800 engine hours? Is this correct? So how many hours before major failure/rebuild? How long did your engine last? I'm trying to build engine yo last 1000 hours

if you dont rev it much or lug the engine should be easy i think even i could get 1000 hours stock.

only thing id do would be KTM ATV valve springs only based on anecdotal evidence .. i haven't ever broken one.

if the guts of my 700 engine were good for 360 hours flogging the crap out of it in some of the most power hungry sand in the world with a paddle tyre and destroying 4 gearboxes 3 Xring exw chains and 3 sets of rear spokes i reckon 1000 hours normal use would be easy.

the bearings are still good it just cracked the piston, to much time near 8000 rpm
