For what it may be worth said final drive in top gear will roughly provide for a .0138 mph / rpm ratio.

Example:
8500 (rpm) x .0138 = 117.3 mph 8O
6500 (rpm) x .0138 = 89.7 mph

Best Regards,
Dale

Good luck Bergdaddy!
I'm sure you're on the road as I write this getting those racing butterflies worked into a frenzy. (that triple expresso isn't going to help) We're all rooting for you in your effort to make a good showing at Baja and wish you and your racers a safe and trouble-free race.

Real time results link

This is the only link I could find that didn't look like an individuals race site.
Off-Road.com

Bad news...I got this off the District 37 web site.

10x is Tommy Black

Baja 1000 updates...

First Trophy Truck out from the start line @ 09:30 Pacific Time, I'm hearing From Bob Steinberger.(weatherman)

First accident, broken leg. Racer 10x it's @ MEG 752, Race Mile (RM)120, with a fracture and in a lot of pain waiting for SCORE MD to arrive....

looks like a bad couple of weeks for the yellow bikes. Cheney out of supermoto, and now the baja team having problems.

RE: all the crap luck...

oh wow, what a bad deal. I hope it sounds worse than it actually is.

Anybody know if they have an alt. rider, in case we can continue tracking progress, or is it done for?

thanks,
json

Hi Gary,
Unfortunately such is reality and goes with the territory.
I am certain Tommy Black has a broken heart to match his damaged leg.

I am now anxious to learn how the remaining Husaberg effort has faired as 1000 miles of non stop racing is a tall order for an engine that was originally designed to dominate 45 minute heats.

Hope to hear from Bergdaddy and crew soon.
Keep your fingers crossed!

Best Regards,
Dale

From District 37 Website:

The Rider 10x with the fratured leg, continued riding to the next checkpoint and received medical attention there. Last I heard, they were trying to communicate with his wife to let her know not to fly down to La Paz and he's OK.

Dale

Sounds like true grit, racing determination and I'm sure a whole lotta pain.
Kudos Mr. Black!
