Keep your eye on rider Jonah Street in the NBC Baja 1000 coverage. He came in 2nd place.

Over the next couple of weeks Jonah will be on his #27 KTM 690 Rallye bike in Dakar race.

Thanks for the info stguy,

I was getting kind of ancy as to where the coverage was going to be. Direct TV had moved the VS channel and I thought it was gone! Whew! I look forward to the PtoDakar everyyear.

RE: Re: RE: Baja 1000 on NBC

I think I will unfortunately miss the Dakar coverage this year as well as the Supercross.

I have downgraded my channels with my satellite provider (Dish), as a protest against the fact that we have to purchase "packages" of channels, usually 50 or 100 more for $$ to get only one or two channels. Of course I wrote them emails, called them to tell them, and I even think about writing a letter.

There is an increasing pressure from users to get cable and satellite providers to switch to an "a la carte" system where we would pay for the couple channels we really need, even if it means 2 or 3 bucks each, knowing it will show what we really want to see. Also we should not have to pay for these packages when these channels carry commercial breaks at the rate of 12/60. Paying for HBO makes sense, not for Speed, or at least not $20 for the package that also includes 90 gold, female and older timers channels.

Ok, I will have to get Speed back when F1 restarts since I am a big Bourdais fan, but I hope they'll get the point.

Not bad coverage.

And, I do believe there was a very quick glimpse of Cheeseberger at the very end of the program. The rider was wearing pants with some red in them, was that you Colby??

Nic,

I usually record the Paris to Dakar every year. However, I record it on VHS. If you still have a VCR player I make you a set of copies and send them to you for your personal enjoyment.
