In my pass time of keeping an eye on whats going on around the world i've just seen thanks to Fritz that Chris white, who those of us who were at the First Gunnison ride met and who is an all around nice guy as well as a hot shot suspension guy has had some really bad luck.
i've copied the following from the 'Support for Chris white facebook page'
or those of you that are asking......I do apologize for not writing what exactly happened on the page! Here is what I know.....please feel free to comment if I have some of the information not quite right....
This weekend (April 1, 2012), Chris and his kids were at a dirtbike race in Grand Junction. Chris was there to race and to work doing his custom suspensions. The race had ended and Chris and friends were loading up, getting ready to leave. A friend was in the trailer with Chris, walked out to get items to load up and returned to find Chris slumped over in a chair, convulsing a bit and struggling to breath. EMS was called immediately while he was given first responder care. Chris was taken to the hospital in Grand Junction, was unresponsive and put on a ventilator. After a few hours and several tests, it was determined that Chris suffered from a brain aneurism followed by 2 strokes. He was then flown to Swedish Hospital in Denver where he had surgery to remove/repair the aneurism. The surgery procedure went really well. Now, it becomes a waiting game.......
Monday (April 2, 2012), Chris remained in the medically induced comatose state, but was able to squeeze Allison's hand a few times and then tried to move his whole body when she told him she was leaving the room.
Tuesday (April 3, 2012), Chris seemed to be moving more, the ventilator was turned off and Chris started breathing on his own. Later that morning, the vent tube was completely taken out and they were allowing Chris to start waking up on his own. He did great in responding to almost all commands given by the doctor. Movement on the left side, which earlier were questionable, seemed better than they thought and feel very positive for rehabilitation. As the day progressed, Chris was in and out. When 'awake' he was very upset, disoriented, confused and struggling to communicate. But he continued to be able to find rest, good rest without medication.
And this is where the support page began and will continue on!!! Please feel free to ask any questions and we will do our best to keep you all informed!!
