Backfiring issue

Hello,

I have 2011 Husaberg FE570, and I am having an issue with backfiring when you slowly increase the throttle. If you open the throttle all the way is seems fine, but if if slowly increase the throttle it backfires. Also when I am riding the bike it seem to loose any high end power when I open the throttle all the way, it just bogs way down. I have already changed the spark plug.

I could use any assistant with the problem. First problem I've ever had with my berg.

A few common things to check: TPS voltage (TPS position adjustment could have slipped), injector filter or injector clogged.

Thank you very much I will try that... Do anyone know what the voltage should be on a nice running berg?

I think stock is 6.01

I bumped mine to 6.24 to eliminate occasional flame out

Check the spark plug

Check the spark plug boot for arching run it at night and look for the spark

Thank you for responding...

I did change the plug. Checked for arching etc...

How did you adjust the TPS?

There's some info on here - but it's the same as on KTM bikes at least! IIRC it's power on, measure voltage at two pins, calibrate until you see a certain voltage (at closed? full open? closed iirc?)

Do a search for TPS adjustment - it's in here. I adjusted mine using 2 sharp probes and a DVM. It's easy and can make a big difference if it slipped.

Smart to check the EFI filter(s) too. I replaced the tiny cone filter with the automotive equivalent of the CanAm filter (cost $3), but there is a nice one available from ZIPTY that has a built in quick disconnect.

Trick someone may want to use. Take a safety pin stab a wire hook up volt meter to that safety pin and you don't have to pull apart that connection. Just watch out to not ground/earth that safety pin!!!

For TPS testing you can get a splice that is a wired up connector on both sides and a place for you test leads off Amazon for like $9.

Oops... it was $36 but I am sure KTM would change you more for the connector. BTW the connector is the same as My 2012 500 EXC as are most parts that are not 70 degree specific.

So what I am reading is that the TPS should be 0.61 which could be bump up to 0.65 closed (idle)

Sound right??? any thoughts?

Now is that fully opened? (Full throttle) (6.24)

My mechanic just powered the injector and blew air through it. I think he blew air

backwards through the injector, but I am not quite sure of his exact technique.

whatever he did worked great, it has never ran better. Super stoked!!
