how to prevent my berg from having backfires ?..

my berg has a backfire now and than ... two times it caused a burning airfilter ! , how can i prevent my berg from catching fire again?...

Try applying steel wire mesh under the filter boot?

It needs to be pretty fine but needs to let air out. We did the opposite operation on the WR 250F: removed the mesh and replaced the filter with the Twin Air backfire-proof filter.

I do not see why your operation could not be done. I know you too have the "big box" home improvement stores in Europe, I shopped at them :)

Also I thought JoeUSA explained you the cause of the problem?

Hi JoeBaR,

In an earlier post, you mentioned that your Berg did not use to backfire, and that it started to after you changed the jetting!

Please list your before and after changes; including jetting, changes in float height, idle mixture and idle speed. Also include whether you had the carb off of the bike, and whether you had loosened or removed any of the exhaust system or had the timing chain off, ignition stator loose or otherwise may have changed the timing of the cam or ignition.

Then we will go from there!

Regards,

Joe
